Howdy Everyone!
My name’s Drew!
I played hockey all through high school with some beer league after. When I was 27 I had some complications with diabetes that cause me to lose my left eye as well as most of the vision in my right. I thought I was done with sports forever!
Then I did some research and found the Blackhawks Blind team at the end of last season and it’s been an amazing ride ever since! Hockey is everything to me, getting to play with kids that are the future of the sport, and just being in that team atmosphere again has done so much for my mental and physical well being that I can’t even begin to explain.
I’m so glad to have a place fore us all to come together and discuss outside of tournaments!

Drew, Thanks for posting. The Blackhawks are a great organization. I hope others continue to use this forum for what it was designed for - sharing about blind hockey and other things related to vision loss. Open communication is so important as an organization grows. Check back often for news and updates. Hope to see you in PA! Ted
